Richards Redux

So Michael Richards went on a racist rant last week in a comedy club, insulting two African-American audience members.

Now he's apologized to Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. The only rational explanation I can come up with is all black people look alike to him.

For white Americans in certain social groups, it is absolutely required to not be a racist.

If you say something racist, you can be restored to the non-racist category only through certain specific methods. One of them is to receive sacramental absolution from a Leader Of The Black Community.

Jesse Jackson has been The Leader Of The Black Community since his 1984 run for the presidency. Al Sharpton has been given that post more recently. These two men being recognized by the White Liberal Intelligentsia as the leaders of Black America are a tragedy and a farce (respectively), IMO.
