So he waited until he learned more facts before coming to a conclusion. What a disgrace.

But he hasn't come to a conclusion. And that's the point of my post. NPR takes Obama's statement about supporting Paulson and Bernanke out of context and truncates it, making it seem like he said something he didn't.

Here's what Obama said:

"Given the gravity of this situation, based on conversations I've had with both Secretary Paulson and Chairman Bernanke, I will refrain from presenting a more detailed blueprint about how an immediate plan might be structured until I can fully review details of the plan proposed by the Treasury and Federal Reserve," Obama said.

He then said (and this is what NPR truncates):

"I fully support the efforts of Secretary Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke to work in a bipartisan spirit with Congress to find a solution," he said.

At no point has Obama said he supports their proposals. This is why his staff can instruct the reporter in my post that he doesn't support the bailout - he just doesn't oppose it.

Nuance, QG. Obama's loaded with it.
