New Cliches
This video was designed to show the lack of imagination in Hollywood--and it does a fine job--but storytellers have always relied on certain tropes. What's cool is this one is only about thirty years old. (Though it's based on older concepts, such as seen in Blow-Up.)

The most impressive thing is the collecting -- you know how many hours of schlock had to be not only watched, but rewatched to find these repetitious gems.
30 or 50 years from now, we'll be doing the same thing with, say, congressional bills or judicial opinions.
