Yankees No Longer #1

I picked the post title over "Red Sox Top Yankees" though I doubt the accuracy of this Nielsen measurement which has the Indians at number 1 and the Reds at number 3 on the list of most hated baseball teams - There must be some fierce fans in the flatlands.

I completely understand the Sox high ranking- Boston fans have gone out of their way to make up for 86 years of futility.

I figure the Indians rank at the top because they are the only team intensly disliked by their own fans.

Prior to this last 9-1 Mets run, I would have disagreed with you, DG. I disliked the Indians for sending us an enfeebled Roberto Alomar, but they redeemed themselves when they called out their millions of insect minions to assault the Yankees in the 2007 playoffs.

Denver Guy is absolutely right. If you read the accompanying article, the stats are clearly slanted towards (against) the teams that are disliked by their own fans. If they elminated the self-hatred votes, the results might be quite different.
