It's Great To Be A Michigan Wolverine

I would have been happy with a 7-5 season.  That's all we got last year, before a disastrous loss in the Gator Bowl.  That itself was a comeback after going 3-9 and 5-7.  You gotta figure a team isn't going to do better with a new coach and the same set of players.

But Brady Hoke seems to have turned the team around.  Michigan beating a decent Nebraska team 45-17 was old-style convincing.  The defense held--which is an odd feeling these days--and the offense kept coming at them.  This is a team that can beat Ohio State (even if it were good) and go on to win a bowl game.  This is a team that could be top ten.

Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, maybe I'm believing what I wish were true, but Nebraska was the sort of victory that makes you think the team is no longer on the road to recovery, but is back.  I was willing to give Hoke a couple years, but he didn't need them.

It's too late this year to win the Big Ten, but next year, if we have the same basic players, we should be favorites.

As a Michigan State fan, I find it hard (at times) to maintain a proper perspective, but this is the dilio. The Lil10 is the weakest it has been in years.

Wisconsin is clearly the best team, but played poorly a couple of times which almost cost them a shot at the inaugural conference championship game; they beat Penn State this upcoming week and they are in. MSU gets the winner of that game for the Right to the Roses and I believe that we will get trounced by Wiscy, so a 10-2 Michigan squad (whose azzez we kicked BTW) will most likely get the nod for a sweeter bowl spot than a 10-3 MSU bunch, even though MSU has only lost once in the conference this year going into lil10TitleGame I.

Got it?? Good and we still have one left against Northwestern prior to TitleGame I.

Does anybody really care about Ohio State/Michigan?? May be time to phase that game out of existence just like Nebraska/Oklahoma AEB the two universities being put into different divisions...

Mikey in State of michigan

Regardless, the top lil10 bowl teams will all be underdogs with some lines being substantial.

Michigan has been shaky this year, but has been getting better. If it had played all year like it played again Nebraska, it would be going to the Rose Bowl.

I do agree Wisconsin is the best team in the Big Ten this year. Meanwhile, the Spartans and Penn State have been playing above their level.
