Boy George turns 51 today--a boy no longer. He's certainly had his problems, but his days in the 80s as a soul/new wave singer fronting Culture Club were pretty solid. In just a couple years they released a bunch of tuneful top ten hits.

Church of the Poison Mind.
I once had a fascinating conversation with some guy in 1983 explaining how every Culture Club song was about masturbation. Unfortunately the bar closed and I went home and passed out before I could write any of it down. The only one I remember is Miss Me Blind. - i.e. you'll miss me so much that you'll be doing it until you go blind. Just checked the lyrics and I think he had a point (if the way that you need/is too much like greed)

Anon #3 I think your selection of alternate porn titles* for Culture Club highlight the fact that they are largely about two partner sexual activity and not masturbation.
* Great fun, I think in the late 80s, National Lampoon or some former writers did a full page list of porn titles for classic literature (i.e. "In Howard's End"). After reading that, I was walking past an Adult Book store that was advertising a video for "Muffy the Vampire Layer"
