Not entirely a shock. He wrote about how Star Wars "illuminates constitutional law" in his review of How Star Wars Conquered The Universe (a book I read a few months ago--I've already written a small blog post about it, though it hasn't appeared yet).
Whenever I meet with Sunstein we don't talk about law, we talk about TV and movies. I assume he had a good time expanding his ideas into book form.

I listened to the audio version of How Star Wars Conquered the Universe last year during our winter from hell- I listened to most of it while I was sitting (then pacing) in a cold train station waiting for my train to take me home(3 hours late on several different occasions) so its remarkable I have a positive impression of it. Maybe thinking of the hot desert suns of Tantooine kept me warm.
BTW, the uncovered Star Wars auditions bit on SNL was sort of cute this week-end
It was an update of a bit they did years ago. But it was worth it.
I finally finished rewatching the prequels. That was a chore, they moved from passable to ludicrous.
I particularly hate in Ep. III the boneheaded way that out of the blue Yoday tells Obi Wan "Oh by the way, your old Master Qui Gon has discovered a way to achieve immortality so you can commune with him." I didn't need a reason why you see glowing Obi Wan, Yoda and Aniken at the end of Return of the Jedi - and Qui Gon isn't one of the figures anyway.
Now I fear that the new trilogy is going to pick up on that stupid throw away from the prequels. I really really hope that we don't see Yoda or Aniken or Obi Wan in the next trilogy - write something new for pete's sake!
Really? Getting to see the old characters again is half the excitement of the new sequels.
I'd like to see the ones he CGI'ed out. Like the hairy banthas, the old man Anakin and the apeface guy in the cantina
