You know, I think I'm going to enjoy this

Mitt Romney to Vote for Ted Cruz

Mitt Romney who was campaigning with Kasich on Monday--but not endorsing him, at Kasich's request, because we saw how that worked out in Michigan.

And Team Kasich's response:

Kasich for America Statement on Mitt Romney
"The fact is the establishment has gotten it wrong this entire primary . . . This is just the old establishment trying again to game the political system, but John Kasich's defeated the Republican establishment his entire career."

Heh. Heh-heh. Hehhehheh. . . ,

(Just like always, Mitt, a day late. Now it's John Kasich's turn to burn down America, because he's more important than that.)

It's over. Donald Trump will win on the first ballot, even without Romney's help (though Romney decided to help him anyway). It's weird so many people are still acting like this is a race.

That seems to be right. So, basically, Kasich's only hope is to drop out and do his damndest to get Cruz enough votes to stop the don's march to 1237. Doesn't seem possible at this point. And of course Kasich would never do that.

So on to the next question. Does Hillary magnanimously name The Donald as her vice presidential candidate? Or does the Don run a shadow race on her behalf? Or does he compete for it? I'd rate each at about a third probability.

GOP 1856-2016.

If Trump wins the nom, the party splits and some establishment type (though that term includes anyone who is not Trump including the Zodiac Killer) runs a credible (I.e. draws more than 10% of the vote). 2017-18 will be all about debates about whether to bring the disparate strands of the old GOP back together
